What is Vigex?

VIGEX is a word derived from Victoria Geelong Exhibition, its committee conducts the following, in Geelong,Victoria,Australia :

  • International Photographic Competitions
  • Exhibitions for Photographic Prints and Digital Projected Images.

Approved by…

Each exhibition is conducted with approval from:

  • the Australian Photographic Society Inc.,
  • the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (the International Federation of Photographic Art), and
  • the Photographic Society of America, in line with the requirements of these organisations.

It is also supported by the Victorian Association of Photographic Societies (VAPS).

VIGEX has been running successfully since its inception in 1980.

Print and Digital Salons

Prints and Digital competitions are offered:

  • one year, the exhibition is a Print Salon & Exhibition
  • the next year will be a Digital Projected Image Salon & Exhibition

First Sponsor

The Victorian Government was the first sponsor, soon followed by the first major private sponsor Alcoa of Australia Limited.

Many other local and national Australian sponsors have contributed over the years, including local municipal councils.

VIGEX international Salons are open to both professional and amateur photographers.
